“My connection to the coastal region of Karnataka holds a special place in my heart,” reminisces Golden Star Ganesh, reflecting on his journey in the Kannada film industry. He recalls how the director, producer, and music director of his debut film, Chellata, all hailed from Mangaluru, establishing a strong connection to Karavali from the beginning. Fate played its part when he married Shilpa, also from the same region, further deepening his affinity for Tulu culture and the land of Parashurama Srishti. Three years ago, during an event in Mangaluru, Ganesh expressed his aspiration to venture into Tulu cinema, a dream now turning into reality as he and Shilpa gear up for their upcoming Tulu film project.

Reflecting on the cultural impact of his mother-in-law, Ganesh acknowledges her influence by sharing Tulu plays, Yakshagana performances, and Tulu film clips, marveling at the talent within the Tulu industry and the impeccable comic timing of its artists. Collaborating with accomplished professionals like Sandeep Bedra, Nityaprakash Bantwal, Mohan Bhatkal, and Santosh Rai Pathaje for the project, Ganesh is excited about his cameo role in the film, marking his debut in Tulu cinema. Expressing his fluency in Tulu, he teases the audience with the prospect of delivering dialogues in the language.

Shilpa views the Tulu film as a personal tribute to her roots and a nostalgic journey back to her childhood in Dubai, where she experienced Tulu dramas at the Town Hall during her holiday visits. She compares the film’s focus on Karavali to the impact Mungaru Male had on Coorg, emphasizing the significance of showcasing the beauty and culture of the coastal region. The city of Mangaluru possesses a wealth of culture and art waiting to be explored. Through this film, we aim to showcase Mangaluru's tourism, art, culture, and linguistic diversity, drawing attention to the region similar to how the movie "Mungaru Male" promoted Coorg. Shilpa expresses her enthusiasm about highlighting the beauty of Karavali in the film.
